SNSD members, "Yuri, what are you doing at night with your door locked?"

[TV report Lee Gyung Nam reporter]

Due to SNSD members, Yuri's mysterious habit has been revealed.

On the 10th of April KBS 2TV, "Celebrity Broadcast- Guerilla Interview" featured SNSD who made a comeback with their latest song, "Run Devil Run". On that day, SNSD members stated that, "Yuri always locks her door when she's surfing on the internet." and with suspicion in their eyes the members asked, "Why?".

Furthermore, Yoona questioned "Was it after this incident that Yuri became sexy?" and other members all
laughed, agreeing with her comment. Yuri, on the other, tried to explained that she only locked the door
because she came out of the showers, but other members were too busy teasing her to listen.

In addition, during the "Members asking members" section of the show, Sooyoung asked Taeyeon, "What is the color of your underwear today?" a question which didn't fit their usual image made the studio burst into laughter. Taeyeon who was a bit bewildered by the question quickly recovered and replied, "a bland one" effectively escaping the question.

Taeyeon also sang 2NE1's music with the dance moves during, "Karaoke-Favorite Music" section of the show and other members also joined in, attracting a lot of attention.

Yoona also declared, "I want to get married when I'm 27-8 years old"

Month of May Will Heat Up With Many Artist Comebacks

The month of April has seen some of the hottest and most anticipated comebacks in k-pop. Despite some setbacks due to the tragic Cheonan incident, Rain has returned with his “A Love Song” that’s been faring very well. Lee Hyori has also released her sing “Swing” showing off a new look and sound. However, industry insiders are saying that that’s as hot as it’s going to get until May.

Many other artists and idol groups were expected to return this month as well, but have decided to push back their comeback dates all the way into May. Speculation attributes this to the fact that they don’t want to compete with two of k-pop’s most influential figures and because of the somber tone that the Cheonan tragedy has set for the country. However, they don’t want to push it further than May due to the World Cup games in June.

When May does finally come around, it’s going to be a fierce battle between some of the biggest names in the industry: Son Dambi, Wondergirls, Se7en, SS501, 2NE1, and 4 Minute.

To name a couple specific dates, the Wondergirls have been busy in the US, but are planning to make their official comeback in Korea on May 16th. SS501 is looking at May 1st to release their new mini album, which is quite easy to remember since numerically it’s “5-01”.

Sung Min-woo of "Oh! My Lady" is not just a pretty boy

A look into Choi Si-won's character from TV series "Oh! My Lady"

A scene from "Oh! My Lady" [SBS]

Sung Min-woo

His noticeable feature is his six-pack and his specialty is kissing. He stopped counting the number of girls he has gone out with after 30 and believes that all girls love him so if you merely glance at him he will say, "Bring a piece of paper, I'll give you my signature." He likes simple roles that extenuate his physical features and if he is told to practice he says, "I don't feel like it today" and if someone questions his acting skills he will get upset and impatiently state, "Let's not talk about the horrible acting."

On the outside he claims that he likes the book "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho but he actually complains "Next time, pick an author with an easier name. Paulo Coelho, it's hard to pronounce." When he receives a scenario about Tae-jo, the first king of the Joseon Dynasty, Min-woo will throw facts he knows about the king that he knows from his shallow knowledge. But he is able to think fast on his feet when it comes to dealing with emergency situations such as covering up the burnt spot on his shirt by revealing his abs or kicking his manager out of the house that his hidden daughter is staying at by saying "I hate you because your feet smell."

If he gets ignored by another person, he insists, "You need a human being with fundamentals? Didn't you say you needed a star? What if you had to choose one? It's hard to find both qualities in a single person because everyone does what the star wants." And when you try to encourage him and tell him not to worry about failure, he will pretend to be strong by saying, "Did I ever say I was scared of doing it?" but such bluffing is done in style.

Korean idol star U-Know Yunho is set to star in the latest music video for three-member R&B group J.Rich, according to J.Rich's agency on Friday.

M.root Entertainment explained through a press release that U-Know decided to play the male lead in the video for J.Rich's song "Goodbye My Love."

This will be the first time that U-Know is appearing in another artist's music video. The teaser video featuring U-Know will be unveiled on April 12 through various online music sites.

Meanwhile, former girl group Sugar member Park Soo-jin has been tapped to take the leading female role. The teaser video containing Park will be released two days after U-Know's video.

J.Rich's first album will go on sale in Korea and Japan simultaneously through on and offline music retailers.

U-Know Yunho made his debut into the entertainment industry as a member of the five-man band TVXQ, one of the most successful K-pop acts in Asia with reportedly the largest fanbase in the world.

The group recently made headlines following their announcement that they would discontinue their musical activities as a group in Japan and only pursue individual careers.

They had officially stopped working as a group in Korea since last July when three of its members -- Xiah Junsu, Hero Jaejoong and Micky Yoochun -- asked a court to nullify their exclusive contract with SM, claiming their 13-year contract period is too long.

Korean pop singer Lee Hyori [Mnet Media]

Korean pop singer Lee Hyori will be unveiling the teaser video to the title track of her upcoming album today, according to her agency Mnet Media on Friday.

Mnet explained that the teaser, a 30-second clip from the music video to "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," will be released on major portal sites and various online music providers at 5 p.m. today.

The singer started revealing songs from her fourth album "H-Logic" last week, starting with "Swing" which took to the top of Korea's music charts for several days.

The entire record was set to go on sale yesterday but has been delayed to April 13 following the cancellation or postponement of all televised music shows last week.

The country had been in a state of grievance after a mysterious explosion sank South Korea's naval ship Cheonan in late March.

Lee, 30, debuted in 1998 as a member of popular girl band Fin.K.L. and went solo after the group disbanded in 2002. She has released three studio albums as a solo artist, producing several hits including “10 Minutes”, “Hey Girl”, “Get Ya” and “U-Go-Girl”.

She has also branched out to acting, hosting and appearing on variety shows, most notably on the first season of SBS’ “Family Outing”.

The cover of Rain's special album "BACK TO THE BASIC" [J.Tune Entertainment]

Asian pop sensation Rain has made a splashing comeback to the K-pop music scene with his new single "Love Song", debuting atop Gaon's singles chart last week.

For the week of March 28 to April 3, the singer took his first crown on the Korean music chart by defeating last week's winner Girls' Generation.

Rain's ballad track has been rapidly climbing several online charts since its release on March 30. All the tracks from his special album "BACK TO THE BASIC", which came out on April 7, have placed within the top ten on various real-time music charts on the day of its release.

Girl band After School came in second with "Bang!", climbing two spots from the previous week, and Brown Eyed Soul rounded out the top three with their hit tune "I’ll Move.”

Meanwhile, G-Dragon triumphed on the albums chart with his special concert album titled "Shine a Light", a live recording of his solo concert held last December in Seoul.

Boy band Beast followed behind at No. 2 with their record "Shock of the New Era" while Girls' Generation's "Run Devil Run" slid down to third place from the top spot.

The Gaon music chart, considered the Korean equivalent of the U.S. Billboard chart, was launched last month. Its data has been accumulated from online and offline sales statistics from the country's major web-based providers and record distribution companies.

Wonder Girls wraps up music video shoot for new album

K-pop princesses Wonder Girls [JYP Entertainment]

K-pop princesses Wonder Girls have finished shooting the music videos for their U.S. debut album in Korea, according to their agency on Thursday.

"The girls shot their music videos for two days till yesterday in the Gyeonggi Province," a representative from JYP Entertainment explained, adding they will return to the U.S. next week to finish preparing for their album.

Their new album, to contain their title track recorded in three languages including English, Chinese and Korean, will be unveiled worldwide on May 16.

Their music videos were also produced in each language, the first time in the world for such an attempt to be made.

On the day of the album's release, the girls are set to hold a launching party which will air live on online service provider Ustream, followed by a live-chatting session with their fans from all over the world and a live performance by the girls.

Wonder Girls made a splash into the music industry in 2007, quickly becoming one of the biggest pop acts in the country with numerous hit singles.

They are also the most successful group to have made a crossover to the U.S., chosen as the opening act for popular boy band The Jonas Brothers and appearing in radio and television shows last year.

The girls continued to celebrate their success, becoming the first Korean artists in Billboard history to enter the Hot100 chart with their U.S. single “Nobody” debuting at No. 76.

However, the quintet --composed of Sohee, Yubin, Sun, Yenny and Mimi-- suffered a setback to kick off their singing career in the U.S. full scale when original member Mimi decided to leave the group to pursue her studies. She was replaced with new member Lim in March.

Bae Yong-joon visits Tokyo for hotel launching and charity

Actor Bae Yong-joon [KEYEAST]

Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon visited Japan for a hotel launching party and charity work this week, according to his agency KEYEAST on Wednesday.

KEYEAST said in a press release that the actor flew into Japan on Monday, although not through Tokyo Narita Airport for security reasons, to attend the opening party for the Lotte City Hotel Kinshicho, held in Tokyo the following day.

At the event, Bae is said to have gifted the new hotel with a white porcelain pot made by a Korean artist, which will later be displayed at the site.

The actor then paid a visit to the Yokohama Children's Medical Center, where an intensive care unit (ICU) facility for premature newborns has been installed in his name. Since last year, the Korean star has been taken part in donating ICU facilities for infants to eight hospitals in Japan.

"There is a big shortage of medical beds and physicians for premature babies around the world," the actor was quoted as saying. "I am making the donations out of hope that people will now be more aware and more supportive of the infants."

Bae, 37, shot to mega-stardom in Korea and throughout Asia with the success of 2002 KBS TV series "Winter Sonata" and gained a huge following in Japan in particular, where he earned the nickname "Yonsama".

He has also been actively promoting Korean culture in Asia, publishing a photo essay titled "Discovering the Beauty of Korea" last year, which contains self-taken photographs of various cultural artisans that the actor met during his year-long travel around the country.

Micky Yoochun [YTREE MEDIA]

Micky Yoochun of Korean idol group TVXQ has been set to star in an upcoming television series tentatively titled "Sungkyunkwan Scandal," according to the show's promoter YTREE MEDIA on Wednesday.

YTREE announced in a press release that the pop idol has been cast in the historical drama, set in the Chosun Dynasty, to play a Confucian scholar named Lee Seon-joon who falls in love with a woman in disguise as a man.

"I had so much fun reading the synopsis," the singer-turned-actor was quoted as saying. "It is an honor to play such an attractive character for my first acting role."

The singer expressed his ambitions for his solo acting debut, saying "I am actually very excited and nervous too because this is my first drama. I am going to learn a lot of things, work hard and do my best in acting."

The historical drama, based on a best-selling novel by Korean writer Jeong Eun-kwol, will go into shoot early next month and air later during the year.

Micky Yoochun, whose real name is Park Yoochun, debuted in 2004 as part of five-member boy band TVXQ. The group became one of the most phenomenal K-pop acts in the country and throughout Asia, selling numerous records and recently making history in the Japanese music scene.

TVXQ has been making headlines this week for announcing over the weekend that they will no longer be working in Japan as a group and that the members will go their separate ways to pursue individual careers.

The band had officially quit working as a group in Korea last July due to a legal dispute between three of its members -- Xiah Junsu, Hero Jaejoong and Micky Yoochun -- and talent agency SM Entertainment over their 13-year exclusive contract.

Micky had previously appeared in several television shows including "Banjun Theater", "Vacation" and popular sitcom "Nonstop - Season 6" (MBC, 2006).

Lee Hyori postpones album release to April 13

K-pop idol Lee Hyori for her song "Swing" [Mnet Entertainment]

Korean pop phenom Lee Hyori has postponed the release date of her new album "H-Logic," according to her agency Mnet Entertainment on Wednesday.

A representative at Mnet stated the date has been delayed from tomorrow to April 13, also pushing back the unveiling of her music video and title track.

"It is still unclear whether music shows will air this week so we didn't want to release the album first and have her wait too long till giving her first performance," Mnet explained of the reason for their decision.

All three of Korea's major public networks cancelled or delayed the airing of most of their entertainment shows last week after a mysterious explosion sank South Korea's naval ship Cheonan in late March.

Accordingly, the singer will begin promoting her fourth album once the record goes on sale next week.

Meanwhile, her latest song "Swing" has been successfully climbing the charts of several online charts including Bugs, Dosirak, Soribada, Daum.

Lee made her debut in 1998 as the leader of the now-disbanded four-member girl group Fin.K.L. She began her solo career in 2002 releasing several albums which include her hit songs "10 minutes," "Hey Girl" and "Get Ya."

She has also made a name in the entertainment industry by starring and hosting several variety shows. Her most notable appearance is in the first season of the SBS' reality show "Family Outing."
