K-pop idols Girls' Generation [SM Entertainment]
K-pop idol group Girls' Generation's second full-length album "Oh!" was the top-selling album again last week, according to figures by retailers on Wednesday.
Statistics by Hanteo and Hot Track indicated that the album topped the sales charts for the week of February 15 to 21 to maintain its hold atop album sales charts for the fourth consecutive time.
The record had received a total 150,000 advanced orders online and offline -- all of which have sold out, explained an official at the girls' agency SM Entertainment.
"Oh!" is Girls' Generation's fourth album to sell over 100,000 copies. Previous records such as their first full-length album "Girls' Generation," and their first and second mini albums "Gee" and "Tell Me Your Wish" had also sold over 100,000 copies each.
"Oh!," also the title track from the record, has been dominating several online music charts while also raking the top awards on televised music programs of major Korean broadcasters since early February.
The group, composed of Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona and Seohyun, made their debut in 2007 with the single "Into the New World." They had a particularly successful year in 2009, scoring back-to-back hits with singles "Gee" and "Tell Me Your Wish".
