On the KBS 2TV talk show "Win Win," singer Rain, who had made a comeback after one and a half years, appeared and spoke straightforwardly on April 13. He will begin activities in Korea in earnest after he earned the new title of a world star by actively going on overseas tours and filming Hollywood movies.
Viewers revealed great interest in Rain, whom had not made an appearance for a very long time, and as many as 6,638 questions asking about him were posted on the board of the show's website.
As an answer to a mischievous question asking about his income, he said, “When I was young, my family went through financial difficulty, so I have always wanted to make my family happy. Right now, I can give spending money to my sister and I can make my father more comfortable. In terms of that, I think my wish has already come true, so I am happy.”
As the first secret guest, actor Kim Sung Soo, who worked together with Rain when they filmed the drama “Full House,” was featured. He said that if he had a sister, he would not introduce Rain to his sister, so people wondered about the reason. Kim Sung Soo answered, “The reason is that Rain is always putting forth his best effort in everything, so he might not spare any time for dating." Also, he demonstrated their friendship by describing Rain as the “hero of a never-ending drama” because Rain always kept in touch with Kim Sung Woo even after the drama finished.
The second secret guest was singer Kim Tae Woo. He raised objection to Rain’s comment that he often buy meals for others because he is generous to others even though he is strict on himself. Right after he came onstage, Kim claimed that he always buys meal for Rain, who earns much more money than him. Listening to his utterance, Rain made the excuse that he admittedly has a fixed belief that older people always have to buy meals. They had a forthright discussion that continued.
Rain’s “Special Meeting, Let's Meet Right Now” was held in Myung Dong. Because of the huge interest of people on the street, the area was completely crowded. The special meeting was organized to hold a wrestling match between members of a high school wrestling club and Rain’s dance team.
At first, the dance team was inferior to the high school wrestling team, but as soon as Rain came out, the situation was reversed and began to turn in Rain’s dance team's favor.
Rain had a match with a strong student who once recorded first place in the National Sports Festival, but Rain won the match with an impressive attack. After that, he won another consecutive victory.
Rain also engaged in a one-on-one match with handsome volleyball player Kim Tae Jin, betting one million won as a donation for the needy. He pushed the tall volleyball player down to maintain his undefeated record. Many people who were watching the match gave Rain a big hand for his strong will to win. The support for his efforts continued on the viewers’ board, with comments such as, “He always does his best in everything and it is wonderful.”
Also, viewers posted approximately 7,640 replies on the website to the question, “What would you do if Rain actually does wrestle in Myung Dong?” The replies included amusing answers such as, “I would come to Myung Dong with a cowbell on my nose,” “I will play Rainism with a gayageum,” and “I will take a cow to Myung Dong.” At the wrestling place prepared in the middle of Myung Dong in Seoul, an unusual scene therefore unfolded. A cow was indeed brought to Myung Dong and a gayageum was actually played.
The talk show "Win Win," which lets viewers have interactions with a star, is broadcast every Tuesday at 11:05 pm.
