Wonder Girls' member Lim [JYP Entertainment]

A photograph of Korean pop sensation Wonder Girls new member Lim has been unveiled on the group's official website prior to their upcoming international album release next week.

The girls' agency JYP Entertainment (JYPE) stated through a press release on Sunday that a photo of the singer, donning a funky yet feminine look, has been revealed on wondergirls.jype.com and www.wondergirlsworld.com.

"Fans will be able to see the numerous charms of Hye-lim when the group starts promoting [new album] '2 Different Tears' later this month," an official at JYPE was quoted as saying.

Lim, short for Hye-lim, had been a trainee at agency JYPE for several years before she was brought in to replace original member Mimi, who quit the band in February to pursue her college studies.

The 17-year-old singer, who was originally preparing to debut as a member of the Chinese version of Wonder Girls, is known to speak four languages -- Korean, English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Wonder Girls -- originally composed of Sohee, Yubin, Sun, Yenny and Mimi -- debuted in Korea in 2007 and quickly became one of the most successful pop groups in the country with three consecutive No. 1 singles, "Tell Me", "So Hot", and "Nobody".

At the height of their popularity in Korea, the girls and producer Park Jin-young surprised everyone by going over the U.S. where they began working as a virtually unknown pop group from Asia.

Their foray into the American pop market turned out to be a risk well taken as the girls scored 45 opening gigs for boy band Jonas Brothers' U.S. summer tour, appeared on several TV shows and made a Billboard chart entry for their debut single "Nobody," which was placed at No. 76 in October 2009.

The quintet looks to be gaining more recognition in the U.S., particularly among 'tweens' [teenagers and people in twenties], as they were recently named "Artist of the Month" by portal site AOL's music section for the younger generation.

They will be releasing "2 Different Tears" worldwide on May 16 (Korea time) with the title track and its music video to be available in Korean, Chinese and English.

Wonder Girls are scheduled to arrive in Seoul on May 17 to promote the new record and make television appearances including on the popular variety show "Family Outing Season 2."
