Comedian Park Myeong-su has expressed confidence in the success of his latest album.
Appearing on the KBS-2TV talk show "Win Win" on Tuesday, he said he is confident his song "Fyah (featuring rapper Gill)" will top the music charts. MC Kim Seung-wu asked why Park has released an album as he is already making a sizable income as a TV entertainer.
Park said that in fact he barely makes any profit from music. He said his manager pocketed all the profit from his previous album and that this time around he was trying to do it himself but struggling.
Assistant MC Wooyoung asked about the prospects of "Fyah" to succeed, to which Park replied, beaming, that when the song was first released it ranked 4-5th on the charts. He said the only reason it didn't make it to the top was because he didn't perform on TV. He said, "I'm 100% positive that if I sang the song on TV, it would top the rankings."
Assistant MC Kim Sin-yeong asked "What if it doesn't rank at the top?" Park coolly replied, “Oh well, if it doesn't, it doesn't."
One of Park's guests on the show, comedian and singer Haha, asked, "Who is then to blame?" Park's witty answer was, "Software."
Park also said his priority is staying in broadcasting for many years rather than gaining popularity or making significant income. He said he wanted to give laughter to Korean viewers as long as he can until he is in his 50s and 60s.
