K-pop star Rain has won three awards at the Green Planet Movie Awards. The nation’s most famous singer/actor was honored for his title role in “Ninja Assassin.” He was named one of Ten Most Outstanding Asians in Hollywood, Asian Cultural Ambassador of the Year, and Best International Entertainer. Other actors and actresses honored at the awards ceremony included Robert Downey Jr. for “Sherlock Holmes” and Sandra Bullock for “The Blind Side.”
The Korean thriller “Mother” also won three awards – Best Foreign Language Film, Best International Film and Best International Drama. The film starred Korean heartthrob Won Bin and highly acclaimed Kim Hye-ja, and directed by Bong Joon-ho of Korea’s highest-grossing monster flick “The Host.”
