Tablo Responds to Forgery Rumor on Twitter

Tablo posted a message on Twitter stating, "I am sad due to a rumor that I forged my educational background."

He continued, “From the beginning, I think that [the originators of the rumor] did not want to disclose a truth, they just wanted to express their hatred towards me...I am sad about this situation, that this kind of unfair incident can happen to me.”

Epik High’s Tablo (real name Lee Sun Woong, 30), who graduated from Stanford University in the USA, expressed his uncomfortable feelings towards some people who have suggested that Tablo had forged his academic background. He posted his feelings on his Twitter on June 3.

Tablo said, “Due to some people who attack me simply to attract interest, many people including myself, people in my school, other netizens, people working in the broadcasting industry and reporters have verified my academic background several times. The same thing already happened a few years ago, and, at that time, my educational background was completely proven. But, some people still deny every single truth and, what is worse, they are outspoken in criticizing me and my parents. They even made up a fictitious story and sent emails and letters to my family, which obviously made our family’s life difficult.”

He added, “I know that I have to endure all this, but I have thought that it is the attacker who needs to explain these actions. Some people cursed me with words that should not be spoken to me and my family, and demanded an explanation from me. What kind of explanation do I have to give?”

Tablo became a father recently as his wife and actress Kang Hye Jeong has given birth to a baby. He finished his statement by saying, “I just became a father and I am trying my best to live life to the full. I do not want to waste my precious time anymore.”

Tablo had sued a netizen for defamation last April. The netizen posted his claims online that Tablo lied about his academic background and the claim also contained other libel about Tablo’s whole family.

Tablo Doesn't Let Wife Watch Boy Bands

Singer Tablo, a member of the band Epik High, appeared on KBS-2TV's "Happy Together" on Thursday and talked about his newlywed life. He said he doesn't let his wife, moviestar Gang Hye-jeong, watch handsome, well-built boy band singers.

He said, "There are so many idol boy band groups on TV these days. I don't let my wife watch them. When I'm on a music show, I don't tell her in advance. I text her right before I go up on stage and let her watch only my performance. When I'm done, then I call her and make sure she turns off the TV."

Tablo talks about interesting marital argument

The celebrity couple is known for their loving relationship, but Tablo talked about their peculiar fights. The passionate actress and the singer-songwriter are both highly sensitive artists so when they fight, they use dramatic expressions such as "You hurt my spirit," like a line from a movie.

Appearing on "The Star Golden-Bell Challenge" on KBS-2TV on Saturday, Tablo, from the band Epik High, said he installed a surveillance system to watch his soon-to-be-born baby through his cell phone when he is outside.

But he explained, "I and my wife Gang Hye-jeong both work hard so when our friends babysit for us, we trust them in heart but I'd like to trust them with my own eyes also. I arranged the system so I can watch my baby in the house on my cell phone."

He also said that actor Cha Tae-hyeon gave him a baby carriage as a gift but it was difficult to assemble. But Cha insisted on sending him a picture of the fully assembled carriage, so Tablo worked on it for two months. MC Ji humorously said mabye the product was a promotional offering by a company.

Korean hip-hop band Epik High is set to appear on CNN's Talk Asia, according to their agency Woolim Entertainment on Monday.

The group recently conducted an interview with the show's anchorwoman Anjali Rao, where they talked about their difficulties, success and future ambitions.

"We were glad that CNN showed great interest in the depth and diversity of Korean music," Epik High member Tablo was quoted as saying. "It was an undeserving honor to represent and introduce our own kind of hip-hop to all over the world."

Talk Asia is one of the most prominent documentary interview programs on global news channel CNN, which features influential figures from various realms of society including politics, economics, culture, entertainment and sports.

Other notable Koreans who have previously appeared on the show include soccer player Park Ji-sung, singer Rain and actor Lee Byung-hun.

Epik High -- composed of Tablo, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz -- debuted in 2003 with the album "Map of the Human Soul" and gained popularity with the success of their consequent albums "High Society" and "Swan Songs". The group released their sixth album "[e]" in September 2009.

Epik High's interview is scheduled to air worldwide on CNN on April 21.
