K-pop group Super Junior promotional picture for 4th full-length album [SM Entertainment]
Asian superstar Super Junior is set to release their fourth full-length album on May 13, according to their agency SM Entertainment on Tuesday.
SM stated in a press release that the boys will be returning to the music stage for the first time in a year and six months with a stronger and powerful image.
However, only ten members of the original 13-man band will be taking part in the new album -- Kang-in plans to enter the army to fulfill his mandatory two-year military service, Kibum is focusing on his acting career and Hangeng is currently embroiled in a legal battle with SM.
The remaining members of Super Junior were quoted as saying, “We are feeling increasingly confident with the outcome our new album even though we felt pressure [to do better] following the success of our third album.”
To the other members, they said, “We wish the best for them and hope that they will be joining us soon."
Super Junior made their debut in November 2005 and is known as one of the most popular K-pop acts in Asia.
They have sold over 250,000 copies of their third-full length album "Sorry, Sorry" which topped numerous charts in Korea as well as China, Taiwan, Thailand and Philippines.
The boys also kicked off their second Asia tour in Seoul last year titled "Super Show 2" which attracted a total 200,000 fans from cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Taipei, Nanjing, Kuala Lampur and Manila.
