World Cup fever continued its dominance on the TV charts last week with almost half the country tuning into the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa matches.

Numbers from TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) on Monday indicated that the South Korea's Round of 16 game against Uruguay on June 26 recorded viewership ratings of 47.5 percent, while AGB Nielsen Media Research revealed slightly lower ratings of 44.3 percent.

Uruguay defeated South Korea 2:1, leading to South Korea's loss of chance at advancing to the quarter finals.

Meanwhile, South Korea's Group B match against Nigeria last Wednesday was ranked second in viewership ratings -- 40.9 percent on TNmS' poll and 39.5 percent on AGB's survey.

KBS' new drama "Bread, Love and Dreams," about the success story of baker Kim Tak-koo, remained in the No. 3 spot with ratings of 30.4 and 29.1 percent, respectively, on each chart.
