On February 26, Shin Hye-sung, a former member of the group “Shinwha,” passionately sang his hit song “Same Thought” to the accompaniment of singer/songwriter Vink (Lim Hyung-bin) in a showcase performance at Jeff Tokyo.

Singer Shin Hye-sung, previously a member of the group “Shinwha,” has given showcase performances all over Japan. On February 24, Shin debuted in Japan, releasing the original Japanese album “Find voice in song” and the best-of album “SHIN HYE SUNG Collection 2010: My Everything.” To celebrate the release of his albums, he held showcase performances at Jeff Osaka, Jeff Nagoya, and Jeff Tokyo on the 20th, 22nd, and 26th, respectively. He performed Japanese as well as Korean songs, and also participated in a talk show.

On the 26th of February, the last day of his showcase performances, Shin, whom was greeted by his fans’ enthusiastic cheers, sang the ballad “Gotobani Dekinai” from his Japanese album and the rock songs “Gone Today” and “Over the Rainbow” to the accompaniment of a band.

During the talk show, Shin said, “I have waited a long time to release my debut album in Japan. I am so glad about it, but on the other hand, I feel nervous. However, I am so happy that many fans came to my showcase to enjoy my show.” He called up a fan onstage who had left the message, “You might have anxious feelings and difficulties with your new start in Japan, but don’t forget your fans will always stay with you.” Shin personally gave the fan some chocolate which he had brought from Korea.

In addition, Shin introduced all his songs from the Japanese original album in detail and said, “The songs were difficult for me because they are different from my previous songs, but the more I sing the songs, the more I like them. I sang the songs with my whole heart and I was trying to find my voice in the songs.” The fans answered with a loud ovation and cheers to his question “Can you feel it?”

In addition, singer/songwriter Vink, who performed alongside Shin, came onstage as a guest. Vink said, “I have worked with Shin since his second album. Shin will be a more mature singer as time goes by.” Vink played the piano and sang the songs “It’s You” and “Love Letter” from the best-of album together with Shin. They were loudly cheered by the audience.

Finally, Shin said, “I felt a sense of frustration because my voice was hoarse during the performances, but I think I did my best. I will sing enthusiastically until my heart gives out and my voice is hoarse.” He ended his performances with the songs “Friend” and “Night Date.”
