Se7en to advertise BlackBerry

Korean singer Se7en [YG Entertainment]

Korean singer Se7en, who is set to make his comeback to the local music scene this week, has become the new model for the Blackberry smartphone, according to his agency YG Entertainment on Monday.

YG announced in a press release that Se7en has signed a contract with telecommunication company SK Telecom to advertise for smartphone device BlackBerry.

An associate from BlackBerry said, "We have been planning for a comeback party for Se7en since he was preparing for his return. We will be hosting the comeback party titled ‘Se7en Digital Bounce Release Party’ on the 20th."

Just last week, the singer unveiled a 25-second teaser video for his title track "Better Together" from his upcoming album "Digital Bounce," along with photographs of himself dressed in accordance to the new record.

Se7en, whose real name is Choi Dong-wook, trained under YG Entertainment for four years before making his debut in 2003 with the album "Just Listen." He became popular throughout Asia, releasing four full-length records in Korea and seven singles in Japan.

In 2006, he crossed over to the United State to pursue a music career there, collaborating with famed producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jenkins on his digital single "Girls" featuring female rapper Lil' Kim.

Se7en is currently preparing for his return to the local music scene for the first time in three years with the release of his mini-album on July 21.
