Boy band 2PM member Junsu is unlikely to be joining the rest of his members for the Wonder Girls' North America tour this month, according to his agency JYP Entertainment (JYPE) on Friday.

"The members of 2PM have departed from Korea because they will open the Wonder Girls' tour but Junsu will stay back and take time to recover from his knee injury," an official from JYPE told Asia Economic Daily over the phone.

The official also added that JYPE has yet to make a decision on whether Junsu will be able to join the rest of his band members for the tour midway.

Junsu has been unable to perform on music shows since mid-July after damaging the knee cartilage in his right leg.

2PM will return to Korea on June 12 after opening nine of the girls' 27 shows, titled "Wonder World Tour" which kicks off in Washington D.C. on Friday (EST).

2PM, consisted of other members Taecyeon, Nichkhun, Wooyoung, Junho and Chansung, was created under major talenthouse JYP Entertainment.

They are currently enjoying their return to the music scene with their third single album "Don't Stop Can't Stop" featuring their title track "Without U."

The group will hold a two-day concert in Seoul on July 31 and August 1 at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul, followed by two other performances in Busan on August 7 and 8 held at BEXCO.

2PM member Junsu is suffering from a damaged knee cartilage but it will not keep him from taking part in his group's performances on music shows, according to his agency JYP Entertainment.

The pop idol had been rushed to the hospital Friday when he felt acute pain in his knee while appearing on KBS2 TV's "Music Bank."

The pre-recorded portion of the show was able to broadcast Junsu's performance with the group, but he was taken to hospital during the band's encore performance after they won the No. 1 title.

"We got the results on the x-rays that he took on May 7 and there's been some cartilage damage," an official at agency JYP Entertainment told Asia Economic Daily over the phone on Saturday.

"The doctor advised him not to dance, bend his knee or make any big movements," the official added, but the singer joined his bandmates on stage to perform the group's latest single "Without U" on MBC's weekly music show, which aired Saturday.

Junsu, wearing pressure bandages on his right leg, contributed his vocals for the new song while refraining from dancing to prevent himself from making any movements with his knee.

2PM, one of the most popular boy bands in Korea since their debut in 2008, has been settling into their six-man act after former leader Park Jae-beom left the group last year.

Members of Korean idol group 2PM will meet with their fans this weekend to talk about the group's former leader Park Jae-beom's departure, according to their agency JYP Entertainment (JYPE).

"All members of 2PM, except for Park, will hold a meeting with fans on February 27," JYPE announced on the group's official fan cafe on Sunday.

The six members are expected to talk directly with fans about various issues including Park's leave from the group as well as rumors surrounding the incident.

The time and place for the gathering have yet to be decided and it is unlikely the event will be open to the press.

Former leader Park quit 2PM in September 2009 and left Korea after sparking national controversy over what he had written on his MySpace page several years ago became public.

His comments -- including "I hate Korea" -- created an uproar around the country, particularly among Internet users, leading to his decision to leave the group and return to his hometown Seattle.

Five-member group TVXQ (known as Tohoshinki in Japan) became the bestselling foreign artists in Japanese music history with the group’s latest single album “Break Out!” Oricon News reported that TVXQ’s 29th single in Japan has sold roughly 25,600 copies in the first week out in the market, rising to No.1 spot on the Oricon weekly single chart. Japanese fans have eagerly waited for the release of “Break Out!” It has been proven by the fact that the album was placed first in the most anticipated album list.

The group’s album sales have surpassed the record set by Elton John in September 1997 when he released “Candle in the Wind” in memory of the late Princess Diana. They have also become the first foreign artist to sell more than 200 thousand copies in the first week since the album’s release. Meanwhile, TVXQ will market on February 17th their best album comprised of the songs introduced in Japan. However, it is not known when the group will resume their activities in Korea, since the legal dispute between three of the members and their agency hasn’t been resolved yet.
